Now the Real Work Begins

Well, all of the residuals tied to school are over, at least for now.  I have to take a professor to the airport in Raleigh tomorrow, but after that, things are officially done, and I can get working on the strip and stuff tied to Ape more stringently.

Stan and I sent a strip to Danielle Corsetto in hopes of being chosen for one of her five guest strips next week in Girls with Slingshots.  Here's hoping--I think our effort's pretty funny.  I'm also working on a super secret project with Erica Hesse.  In the meantime, Stan continues to chug out his other webstrips, including The Wang and Revvvelations.  See them all at www.squidworks.com

Stan did an interview with the Fanboy Faceoff at Free Time Comics on Free Comic Book Day which just got posted: http://fanboyfaceoff.libsyn.com/index.php?post_id=336748.  His interview starts about halfway through the podcast.

I also got a tweeter account too, so feel free and join up and keep up with my mundane life LOL.  It's down at the bottom of this page.

Our hits per day are slowly on the rise, which is a good thing.  Here's hoping things continue as word of mouth spreads about the strip.  Virtually all of the feedback has been positive so far, which bodes well for our longevity.  Keep voting for us using the links below to get us higher on the lists--it's all self-perpetuating.

Finally, the Geek Savant guys give us a lot of love on Episode 61 of their podcast.  Listen to it here--it's around the 1:15 mark or so, if I remember correctly.  Dave and John are both terrific guys, and their stuff is worth checking out, too.  I'm hoping to have pinups from either or both of them for the upcoming SubCulture trade, which we are working on diligently as we speak.  It's looking to be 144 pages in a compact, 6x9 format for roughly $14.

"SubCulture is very funny, character-driven magic that will appeal to the inner-geek in all of us."

--Jim Mahfood (Stupid Comics, Clerks, Grrl Scouts)

If you're stuck in a dead-end retail job, tried to impress a girl with your Bib Fortuna impression

or eaten cereal for two meals in a single day, SUBCULTURE is the witty, clever comic you've

been waiting for, my nerdy friend!"

--Alex Robinson (Box Office Poison, Tricked)
