Double Strip Today

I'm off to Alabama to visit the in-laws.  They don't have high-speed internet at their place, and I don't have a wireless card to use.  So I'm going to go ahead and post Friday's strip today as an early treat.  Enjoy!

Back from Chicago.  My Feet Hurt.

Another Wizard World Chicago has come and done.  Chicago and Heroes Con are my two favorite shows of the year, but when they are back-to-back, it does prove to be a test of both stamina and willpower.  It was nice that the first day consisted of my wife and I spending time watching a game at Wrigley Field.  Both of us are baseball fans, and a visit to the Friendly Confines is something every baseball fan should do.  Even if it was interleague play.

I was set up at the Ape booth, where we had 20' of space.  I spent most of my time selling books, reviewing portfolios, and listening to pitches, but I did manage to do a little shopping and explore a little.  The highlight was spending like three hours with Bob Layton and his assistant at the Hyatt Bar on Thursday night.  Bob Layton was the guy who turned me into a comic fan with his Iron Man run in the late 70s and early 80s, so spending some time with him was a thrill.

I did also manage to get a few sketches--one my the aforementioned Layton, one by Art Baltazar, one by Justin Bleep, and another amazing Matt Kindt piece.

Stan was there as well, which will probably be the only time this year that the two of us will get together.  Ah well, there's always next year.

The Webcomic List Webbed Comics Vote For Webcomic - SubCulture

"SubCulture is very funny, character-driven magic that will appeal to the inner-geek in all of us."

--Jim Mahfood (Stupid Comics, Clerks, Grrl Scouts)

If you're stuck in a dead-end retail job, tried to impress a girl with your Bib Fortuna impression

or eaten cereal for two meals in a single day, SUBCULTURE is the witty, clever comic you've

been waiting for, my nerdy friend!"

--Alex Robinson (Box Office Poison, Tricked)
